Module Comparison Studies
Module comparison studies compare the performance, reliability and/or energy output of several modules from different manufacturers to one another. Manufacturer nameplate specifications may not be directly comparable and degradation data may not be available for most module types. Comparison studies can provide an excellent basis for a project developer or installer to decide what type of modules provides the best value for a project. The testing typically includes some advanced performance testing to look at low light conditions, temperature coefficients, and evaluate light induced degradation behavior. In addition, reliability tests and longer term outdoor yield studies can be added to evaluate long term reliability. Comparing different modules directly to each other using the same test equipment and test conditions eliminates many uncertainties and provides excellent comparison results.
